According to several reports, the RTO, Bhubaneswar issues a hefty chalan to an auto driver and its owner. They were fined a whopping Rs. 47,500 rupees for a slew of violations including drunken driving, driving without a registration certificate, permit, pollution certificate and insurance under the new Motor Vehicle Act.
A tweet put out by the Commissionerate Police says that the enforcement will be intensified tomorrow, requesting the motorists to strictly abide by the new traffic laws.

As per reports, the penalty included Rs 500 for general offence, Rs 5,000 for having invalid driving license (DL), Rs 10,000 for violating permit conditions, Rs 10,000 for drunken driving, Rs 10,000 for violating air/noise pollution, Rs 5,000 for allowing unauthorized person to drive vehicle, Rs 5000 for using vehicle without registration and fitness certificate and Rs 2,000 for plying the vehicle without insurance.
