If you are a regular visitor to the Indira Gandhi park in the morning and wish there was a gym, your wishes could come true very soon.
The BDA is working on the construction of a gymnasium on a 3000 square feet area at an estimated cost of Rs. 40 lakh.
The gym which will be operated on a PPP mode, will be fully air-conditioned and have hydraulic equipment. You will have access to some specialized trainers in the gym at IG Park as well. You can sign up with membership programs by paying a fee which will be announced once the gym is operational and open for the visitors.
As per stats, in excess of 2,000 city dwellers visit the IG Park for morning and even walk. Hence, a gym sounds like a great idea for the visitors.
For the record, there are two state govt-run gyms in Bhubaneswar currently:
- Kalamandap Yogic Centre (near Kalpana Square)
- BMC Gym (near Baulagada, Old Town)
Other than these two, there are many private gyms in Bhubaneswar that are charging a monthly membership fee ranging from Rs. 300 to Rs. 1,500 per person.
The construction of the gym building at the IG Park is estimated to be over in a month. We will keep you updated once it is launched for public.
