Starting today, the BMC has launched a toll-free helpline number to help citizens avail sanitation services in Bhubaneswar.
If you are facing problems related to dumping of garbage, poor drainage, mosquito breeding or waterlogging in your locality, you can now register a complaint with the BMC dialing the following number:
As per BMC commissioner, the facility will help people get services within 24 hours of lodging complaints.
The Sanitation Drive is said to be a part of Central Governments Swachh Bharat campaign which has forced the East Coast Railway to initiate a similar campaign to address cleanliness issues at various railways stations and trains in general.
Swachh Bhubaneswar, as the BMC prefers to call it will focus on spreading awareness among the city dwellers for which the civic body has roped in NGOs and other stakeholders.
Besides, the dedicated toll-free number, the BMC is also planning to start a Facebook Page to allows city dwellers to offer suggestions on improving the cleanliness drive.
