About Rajdhani Book Fair
In the month of January of the year,1999 the 1st Children’s Book Fair was organised by Orissa Children Writers Academy at Jayadev Bhawan ( formerly Soochana Bhawan) ground for 8days under the leadership of Dr. Upendra Kumar Jena, President of the Academy. A number of publishers publishing the children books participated in the fair. This fair became grand success & was appreciated by the children as well as general readers. This first endeavour encouraged the organisers to proceed for a general Book Fair . It was decided that the children books would be displayed on the front table of every publisher in the proposed Book Fair. Accordingly a new committee was formed under the presidentship of Dr. Upendra Kumar Jena who was suggested to name the fair as RAJDHANI BOOK FAIR.
