In the past couple of years, photography has evolved as a full time profession for many. There are a few, if not many, that have been driven by their sheer passion for lens and quit their job to embark upon a journey that is still considered rather unconventional in the Temple City. There are many budding photographers out there who nurture an ambition to a professional photographer i.e, to be able to monetize their skills in the local market.
Check these out: Kassa, Rola, Chokha, Bobal, Alga Prakar, Poka, Bampha, Nangha. All of these words have officially dominated the Facebook community pages across the city and in fact, predominately used by the young population of Bhubaneswar.
So what is this Odia Mentality all about? Is there anything such as Odia Mentality to start with or is it just one of those strong assumptions some of us hold against our very own community?
Remember – Change is not a choice; it’s a pressing need.
Every one of us is essentially an ambassador of our city. We represent and shape our city though our conduct and approach. Therefore, it is highly pointless to blame the city without doing your bit. So before you start blaming your city, look within yourself and ask, “Am I a good/bad/ugly ambassador of this city?”
